Squishy Snak Pak Review & Giveaway

Posted on by Lisa Codina 707 Views

Life is SO busy with two kids! My soon-to-be 3 year old son is a handful (to say the least) and doesn’t make it easy for me, especially during my daughter’s snack time. (On a side note, my daughter loves food and when it’s time to eat she NEEDS to eat…Basically, the minute I plop her in the high chair that food MUST be ready…or else!)

The problem is, she can’t self-feed (with a spoon) yet and I’m too paranoid to try baby-led weaning.

Can you imagine my excitement when Michelle Zackarias, the mompreneur who invented the Squishy Snak Pak, sent me samples of her product?!

The concept is simple; fill up the pouch with any puree or smoothie, baby squeezes out the contents from the spout, wash then reuse.

On top of the convenient no-mess factor, these reusable pouches are eco-friendly, made from BPA-free materials, are freezer-friendly and ideal for use on-the-go.

I prepared a fresh banana chai smoothie for both of the kids. I served my son’s portion chunky and then pureed my daughters’ and poured it into the Snak Pak.

Banana Chai Smoothie
1 ripe banana
1/2 tsp. chai spice blend
2 tbs. Greek yogurt
1/2 cup – 1 cup milk of choice, depending on desired consistency
Blend all the ingredients in a food processor until smooth.

My only concern before giving her the Snak Pak was that she wouldn’t have the patience to figure out how to use it, which would result in a total meltdown…

My assumptions were right…She picked it up, took a good look at it…then threw it on the flour in frustration. (I spared her the future embarrassment by not posting the picture of her mid-meltdown!).

After I cleaned my dog cleaned up the mess I tried again…

In my opinion, this product is definitely worth a try! Before you do try it, here are some pros and cons that you might want to consider:

PROS
-Reusable (that’s the whole point!)
-Window in the back allows you to see the contents inside
-BPA free and eco-friendly
-Ideal for babies and toddlers of all ages
-Easy to clean (It can even be simply rinsed if washed right after use, otherwise you might need to soak it, depending on the contents)
-Ideal for on-the-go snacks
-Easy to use “zip-lock” style closure
-Freezer-friendly
-Spout is large enough to hold thicker purees/smoothies

CONS
-It doesn’t stand up so it can be tricky when adding purees (and remember to screw ON the cap before pouring…half of my daughter’s snack ended up in the sink the first time I used this-my bad!)
-Portion size is only 1/2 cup so if baby has a large appetite (like my daughter) you’ll have to refill it multiple times.

And here it is, the moment you’ve all been waiting for…the GIVEAWAY!
